In a major police operation which involved raids of nine small businesses, officers have seized almost 15,000 packets of illicit tobacco – an estimated retail value of approximately $190,000.
The operation that took place in the suburbs of Hurstville and Campsie in Sydney’s south on Thursday was part of an ongoing investigation targeting the sale of illicit and counterfeit cigarettes.
Police also seized 57 glass pipes, used for smoking illicit drugs like ‘Ice’, from one of the tobacconists in Campsie.
