Study: Estimated 20 per cent of cigarettes smoked come from black market

The rate of illegal tobacco sales is concerning Nova Scotia convenience store operators.

A study released by the Atlantic Convenience Stores Association found 20 per cent of almost 4,000 cigarette butts collected and analyzed in June from across the province were illegal. The study was conducted by Montreal-based research firm NIRIC Analytics.
