Two N.Y. men sentenced in cigarette-smuggling scheme

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — Two New York men were sentenced Monday in U.S. District Court in Martinsburg in connection with a cigarette-smuggling scheme, U.S. Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld II said.

Fahd Hamood Aljahaf, 38, of Bronx, N.Y., was sentenced to 18 months in prison by Chief U.S. District Judge Gina M. Groh, while Muneer Kaid Khaled, 26, of Brooklyn, N.Y., was placed on probation for 36 months, according to a news release from Ihlenfeld’s office.
