Victoria Woodbine, head of Cyber Policy at the British Embassy, will give an overview of the UK’s cyber security strategy and ongoing efforts to mitigate current threats.  Cyber policy cuts across a number of Departments in the UK and is increasingly gaining attention as the cyber threat grows.  Topics to be discussed include the following key priorities for the UK: international cyber policy and capacity building; cyber crime; protection of cyber-critical infrastructure; and engagement with industry on assessing the mechanisms and merits of information-sharing, standards and disclosure.

Victoria Woodbine is the Cyber Policy lead in the Foreign and Security Policy Group at the British Embassy in Washington DC, a position she assumed in September 2012.  She is responsible for tracking the development of US cyber policy and its implications for transatlantic co-operation on cyber security, and supports the UK’s multinational engagement and the departments included in the UK’s national cyber programme.
