NIST seeks to raise visibility of privacy risk assessments equal to cybersecurity reviews

Gaithersburg, MD — The National Institute of Standards and Technology has launched a process to consider whether a privacy risk-assessment guidance is needed for the government, similar to the agency’s various guidelines for cybersecurity and data-protection controls, as part of a broader effort to raise the visibility of privacy risks to a level on par with cybersecurity concerns.
