Several major congressional bills, aimed at improving cybersecurity information sharing among private entities and with federal agencies have similarities but also differ in how they address agency roles and processes for protecting privacy and civil liberties, among other variances, a recent Congressional Research Service report said.
The CRS report (pdf) dated June 12 provided a breakdown and analysis of several bills, largely focusing on the Protecting Cyber Networks Act, or PCNA (H.R. 1560), the National Cybersecurity Protection Advancement Act of 2015, or NCPAA, (H.R. 1731), and the Cybersecurity Information Sharing Act of 2015, or CISA, (S. 754).
