ARLINGTON, Va. — The world is a complex, dynamic and uncertain place, and continued budget cuts from sequestration may pose drastic risks to the Department of Defense (DoD) cyber security abilities, service leaders told a Senate Armed Services Committee hearing March 19.
President Barack Obama’s fiscal 2016 federal government budget proposal includes $5.5 billion in cyber investments for defense. The request is $537 million more than the $5 billion budget cap allotted under the Budget Control Act of 2011 and subsequent sequestration cuts in 2013.
