Agencies Seek Comment on Proposed Amendments to Bank Holding Company Act Rules
The Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, Treasury; Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System; Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation; Securities and Exchange Commission; and Commodity Futures Trading Commission seek comments on proposed rules. These rules propose to amend the regulations implementing the Bank Holding Company Act's prohibitions and restrictions on proprietary trading and certain interests in, and relationships with, hedge funds and private equity funds. The proposals intend to amend the rules in a manner consistent with the statutory amendments made pursuant to certain sections of the Economic Growth, Regulatory Relief, and Consumer Protection Act. Comments must be received on or before March 11, 2019. Comments on the Paperwork Reduction Act burden estimates must be received on or before April 9, 2019.
