Extension of Public Comment Period
MSHA’s Proposed Rule on Proximity Detection Systems on Continuous Mining Machines in Underground Coal Mines
On November 10, 2011, MSHA will publish a notice in the Federal Register announcing an extension of the comment period on the Agency’s proposed rule addressing Proximity Detection Systems for Continuous Mining Machines in Underground Coal Mines. The comment period will be extended to November 28, 2011. The notice will be available for viewing on November 9, 2011 at 8:45 a.m. at the Office of the Federal Register, Public Inspection Desk: http://www.federalregister.gov/inspection.aspx. The proposed rule was published on August 31, 2011 (76 FR 54163) and is available on http://www.msha.gov/regsprop.htm and at www.regulations.gov. Comments on the proposed rule must be received by midnight Eastern Standard Time on November 28, 2011.
