“I am calling on behalf of my step-mother Betty who needs oxygen 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. And the bill would affect the person’s freedom and their freedom to choose their provider for their home medical equipment. Also the levels of service and quality would be affected and having a 24 hour on-call service is vital to these patients having a lung disease and having to rely on a machine to breath can I am sure be frightening at times. Our patients they need the reassurance that not only is someone there for them on a 24 hour basis but that their’s equipment’s working the way it should be. ….and to members of Congress when this life is over it will be between you and your maker and I’m so happy to see that of the majority of most of the members voted against this bill. We have to think what if it was your family member and we just want to advise them to vote no. No to a competitive bidding. … Thank you for letting me speak and also we in Connecticut are waiting for representative DeLauro for her no vote. Thank you. “
