Washington, D.C., Sept. 27, 2012—Now that a bill, H.R. 6490, has been introduced in the House to enact the Market Pricing Program, we all need to line up support in the House and the Senate. While there is no companion bill in the Senate, it’s still important to talk to all lawmakers about the need to replace the existing bidding system.
In the weeks ahead leading up to the November elections, members of Congress who are up for reelection—and all candidates running against incumbents—should be particularly receptive to hearing specific recommendations from constituents. Please take the opportunity to speak with candidates for office (and their staff) at debates, town hall meetings or in meetings in their district offices.
Today (Monday, Oct. 1) at 2:00 p.m. ET the American Association for Homecare will hold a “Fight for Market Pricing” conference call to discuss strategies and tactics for building support for H.R. 6490. The call-in number is 530-881-1300; pass code 573247#. In the meantime, take action!
• E-mail or call your representative in the House and urge him or her to sign on as a cosponsor to H.R. 6490. The Capitol switchboard number is (202) 224-3121. Or use the Action Center at action.aahomecare.org.
