DOT’S “ Share The Road Program” In Need Of Better Evaluation
GAO concludes that DOT’s program aimed at educating the motoring public on how to share the road with commercial vehicles is need of better metrics for evaluation. GAO states that programs directed at elementary school children, for example, can not be measured, at this time, in terms of their contribution to the overall program.
Notwithstanding the problems in the program, sound analyses such as this should be a prerequisite before additional regulations are proposed.
