FTC and FDA Take Action Against Coral Calcium Claims

The FTC and FDA are taking actions against a marketers of a dietary supplement containing "coral calcium" FDA and FTC actions include sending warning letters to dozens of web site operators selling coral calcium products as treatments for cancer and other diseases. Key to the actions is the FTC's statement that "it is aware of no competent and reliable scientific evidence supporting such claims and that such unsupported claims are unlawful under the FTC Act."
